It's a tough subject because if we don't remember God's sovereignty and don't have an eternal perspective, then it really throws the whole thing in a different light. I was afraid of coming across heartless in some ways, but that could only be determined based on the perspective while reading it.

Events like the ones I listed are so sad and I can't imagine going through what some people have, but at least the eternal destination is something that will always trump the heartache here!Ben Hoganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00377890369984381165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4116613078697236504.post-86308297173134790012011-12-03T10:32:36.026-08:002011-12-03T10:32:36.026-08:00Well done again Ben. This is not always easy to do.

I think what's hard to wrap our minds around is how big God really is and how small we really are. I was just thinking about our little tiny brains compared to God's. We have absolutely no way of fully understanding why things happen the way they happen, because we're not omniscient like God.

You really brought some good verses from scripture, like Lamentations 3:31-33. It is comforting to know that God loves us and has compassion for us. That he does not willingly want to hurt us and grieves when we grieve. It is important to keep in mind that His plan is bigger than ours, and quite frankly incomprehensible. So I'm thankful that as Christians, even though we may not fully understand, we have eternity to look forward to and to keep our eyes focused on, even when bad things happen.
